One of the weaknesses of air-card use is
area coverage. Unlike the people coverage that AT&T likes to
promote, 97%
of the people doesn't mean good coverage in the West.

This is the route we took in 2010. We used this as a baseline
for where we would expect wireless coverage for an air-card. |

On the left is the Sprint coverage plan for 2010. On the
right has our route superimposed on the Sprint coverage.
Sprint has lots of coverage in the East but the West is pretty weak. |

As far as we are concerned, Verizon Wireless provides the best coverage for us.
