The first step for Our Cottage was to pour the foundation slab.
	3/19/19 A good sign the morning. Concrete trucks lined up waiting to pour. And the foundation slab pour had started.

	The garage floor was the last step. We stayed back to kept out of the way of the workers.

3/25/19 The excitement for today is the lumber for our future Cottage arrived. The first of three shipments.

	3/26/19 The Cottage sewer system passed its test and so it was connected to the main sewer lines.
	3/26/19 The piles of lumber are starting to become Our Cottage.

3/29/19 The roof is going up.

	4/3/19 We know the construction is getting serious when the porta-potty arrives.

	Almost all the rafters are up and the sheathing is started.

	4/4/19 Rafters are done. The front of the Cottage has taken shape. The roof sheathing and tar paper are almost done.

4/11/19 Today the delivery of Autoclav Aerated Concrete (AAC), also known as Hebel, and the windows happened. The AAC is two inches of light concrete that is used to cover the outside of the Cottage. This AAC layer has an R-Factor of 4 and provides a great base for the stucco covering.
	These are sheets of the AAC sheathing.

The first step is applying the layer of Tyvec moisture barrier to the studs. The shape of the front of the Cottage is becoming apparent.

	One our additions to the base plan was these transom windows located in the bathroom and hallway to the garage. We had hoped to put the same windows in the kitchen but there wasn't wall space for the windows. Those will be mounted in the side wall of the garage.
	The Cottage is taking a new feel as the walls are covered.

	4/12/19 Almost all the shingles were installed today. Also, most of the AAC sheathing has been installed. The Cottage is really looking like a house.

	4/15/19 The AAC has been applied to the front columns..
	4/15/19 The application of the stucco has started.

	By the end of the day, about 2/3rds of one wall had the first coat. Lots of works prepping the surface.

	4/18/19 Almost all the AAC is installed. More of the walls have the primary stucco layer..

	4/22/19 With the exception of the windows on the end of the garage and the one in the bathroom, all the AAC has been installed.
	Almost all the installed AAC has had the primary coat of stucco applied.

	4/25/19 Finally the Bathroom transom windows has been installed.
	The framing for the transom windows in the garage have been done and the windows are present to be installed.

	The front of the Cottage is basically done. Waiting for the stone fascia to applied where the white areas are.
	The fascia stones have arrived. The framing walk-thru was completed and we are ready for the foam insulation.

5/1/19 Today the AAC was finished around the remaining four transom windows, The new AAC was coated with the primer and then the whole cottage was covered with the second stage coat of the stucco.

	5/2/19 Most of the stucco final coat has been applied. Big conduit pipe attached to end of building and run though a trough to where the electrical hookup will be.

	5/8/19 The curb cutting machine is here cutting the curb for our drive access. Not quite done.
	5/9/19 The electrician came and installed the meter box and the power connection for the AC external unit.

	5/13/19 The electrical conduit for the fiber optic internet was laid into the trench with the electrical power feed. Then the trench was filled in.
	5/15/19 The garage received its door today.

	5/21/19 Real excitement today with these trenches. They are for the electric service and we have been waiting.

	5/31/19 The driveway has been framed. The house number has been installed.

	6/18/19 A really big deal, the electric meter has been installed after a long wait. Now many other installations can be done.

	7/5/19 The sod has been laid. Between the high heat and heavy rains, the grass looks a little weak. The grass is already looking better with watering.
