We seldom use the sink in Red Rover and the fresh and grey water tanks almost fill the entire street side baggage compartment.
We wanted to be able to use the left baggage compartment for things that we access more often. The decision was made to move the
water tanks to under the cab. |

There is a big empty space under Red Rover's cab. This space is normally covered by the side fairings. Here the fairings
are removed to show the space between the air tanks/batteries and the left side fuel tank. The aluminum strip under the red body panel was drilled allow the tank frame to bolted to the strip. |

This is a better view of the under cab area. We had to make sure that the water tanks had clearance to the wiring we had added into the Electrical Compartment. | |

We built a frame out of 1/8"x1-1/2" angle steel. A friend, Larry Moore, welded the pieces to make the frame. | |

We put a double layer of 1/2" pressure treated plywood in the frame. Here are the fresh water and gray water tanks mounted on the shelf. |

Here is a view of the shelf installed. The view is from the battery compartment. A hose was fitted to allow the tank to be filled from the battery compartment access panel. |

We used these clamps to attach the shelf to the truck frame. We use clamps because it is not good practice to drill the truck frame. |

Here is one of the clamps installed. The angle steel of the frame sits on the top flange of the frame. | |
