Dale took off for a couple of weeks to visit her folks so Mark and Mark Shelly started on the framing of the coach house interior.
The first task was to "tray" the ceiling. That is to raise the center of the main area for a higher look.

The ceiling rafters were cut out for the ceiling over the living area. |

The cut rafters had a box added to raise the ceiling. |

The box added 10" to the ceiling and takes the future ceiling fan higher up for a larger room feeling. |

This modification to the ceiling is called a tray ceiling and it almost done in the first afternoon of work. |
