The discussion of having a washer/dryer or having a storage closet is a real Ford-Chevrolet debate.  Both choices have pros and cons.

The storage closet crowd would rather have the space and enjoy going to the Laundromat and meeting other campers.

The washer/dryer crowd would rather have their own units available anytime....like on those rainy days when hauling clothes to the campground laundry would be tedious!
We choose to have stacked washer and dryer units.  If you are going to have a washer and a dryer, the only units to have are stackable separates.  The combo washer/dryers have a load size that is too small and the wash-dry cycle take too long.  The worse kind of combo washer/dryer is the kind that does not have an external vent.  Those combos keep all the moisture in the RV.

We find we use the dryer every morning to dry the towels and floor mat after our showers to get the moisture out of the trailer.
