A little south of Montezuma Castle is another Sinagua tribe settlement in the Tuzigoot National
Monument. This settlement was built on the top of a hill instead of against a cliff. |
 |
The Tuzigoot Visitor Center is a result of one of the few successful Stimulus Packages the Federal Government did, better known as the WPA.
This center is the only remaining WPA Visitor Center that is original. |

The Tuzigoot settlement was over 20 rooms in one complex with other
complexes around the main group.
An interesting point, Tuzigoot existed from 1000-1400 A.D. The
Notre Dame Cathedral was finished in Paris in the 1240's. |
