We started by being taken to the top of the Dam. The road has
been closed to public traffic since 9/11/2001. |

One thing we noticed different from the Glen Canyon Dam is that
security is much higher. Armed guards are present everywhere. |

The main job of the Grand Coulee Dam is electrical power generation
with a secondary of irrigation and flood control. Just the
opposite from the Glen Canyon Dam |

It is amazing to see so much mass spinning.
The Grand Coulee Dam is one big chunk of concrete. Not as tall as
the Glen Canyon but far wider. |
