Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum |
Hayward is called the Musky Capital of the World as the record Muskellunge
fish have been caught in the Hayward area. The mounted record Muskies
used to hang in a couple of the local bars. In the 1960's, the idea
of a Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame was started. Funds collections
started in the early 1970's and resulted in the building of the
Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame
& Museum in Hayward. The centerpiece of the museum if a
half-city block long, four and one-half story high sculpture of a Musky. |
