Our Cottage - Lot Build

Since we will have the first Cottage in Phase 5 of Retama Village after the model, the Phase is currently just being prepared.
	11/9/19 This is ground zero. The drainage system is one of the first things to go in.

	The next step is getting the road in. Until the road is in and the fire department can get in, construction cannot start.

	12/17/18 Starting to put some crushed rock down.
	12/29/18 Looks like the curbing is being laid out.

1/8/2019 The curbing for the parking area on the side of our Cottage is in. The forms to pour the corner curbs are in. Can't you envision the Cottage?

The next step is to pack down caliche between the curbs until a level is reached for the asphalt. Caliche is used because it is like a natural cement that makes a very hard and stable base. It is found in the desert southwest and used here. 1/11/2019 The final curbing is being poured. Forms have to be used for the corners as the curb machine can only do straight sections. A concrete band is being poured across the road to provided a channel for rain water. Now for some more caliche and asphalt.

	1/21/19 A sign that say this is our lot

	1/24/19 The lot prep for the model Cottage has been started. The caliche for the road is almost ready.
	On our lot, the location sticks have been placed.

	1/29/2019 The foundation slab for the model home is laid out.
	2/9/2019 There is oil on the caliche. Next step the asphalt aggregate.

	3/2/2019 Major progress, our name on the sign post. The gravel for the foundation has been laid.
	3/5/2019 The forms for the foundation slab are being built.

	3/6/2019 The channels for the foundation and the plumbing have been cut.

	3/12/19 The inspector says the plumbing is good.
	3/14/19 The foundation rebar is being formed.

	3/15/19 The moisture barrier has been laid and the rebar forms are being put in place.
	3/16/19 The rebar is done, waiting on an inspector, The concrete company man says Monday should be the pour.
